F4B PCB is a high-frequency printed circuit board (PCB) made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) substrate material. PTFE substrates offer excellent electrical performance, low dielectric loss, and stable high-frequency signal transmission. Due to these outstanding high-frequency characteristics, F4B boards are typically used in applications requiring high signal integrity.
F4B PCBs are widely used in the following fields: wireless base stations, radar systems, satellite communications, RFID,Microwave Components filters, antennas, amplifiers, high-frequency testing equipment, aerospace radar systems applications, etc.
XCE customers commonly selected high-frequency substrates based on F4B PCB :
F4B-2 Series: Known for its excellent dielectric constant stability and low loss characteristics,
F4BM Series: An improved material with further reduced loss and enhanced mechanical strength.
F4B-4: Suitable for ultra-high frequency applications, offering faster signal transmission speeds.
F4B TM Series known for its exceptional low dielectric loss and stable electrical performance at high frequencies.
Manufacturing Challenges of F4B PCB
PTFE materials Handling are very soft and prone to deformation, requiring careful handling during processing to avoid material damage.
Surface Treatment: PTFE’s chemically inert surface makes metalization challenging, necessitating special surface treatment techniques.
High Precision Requirements: High-frequency signals require extremely precise line work, demanding high manufacturing accuracy.
Thermal Expansion Coefficient Discrepancy: The thermal expansion coefficient of PTFE substrates differs significantly from traditional copper foil, making warping and delamination more likely during thermal processing.
